So this is what it means to Set My Own Hours

So this is what it means to Set My Own Hours

Good morning and happy Sunday my friends!!  I hope this day finds you well and refreshed.

So, I left the corporate world because I didn't want to work an 8-5 job anymore. I wanted the freedom to set my own schedule and hours.  To take off when I wanted to and spend more time with my family.  Well....................................let's just say that the reality is not quite what I had in mind.  LOL

Now don't get me wrong. I love owning my own boutique.  And yes, it has allowed me to spend more time with family...just not exactly the way I expected.  As far as taking time off...well, as you can see, it is Sunday morning and I am working.  But I am working because I choose to.  Because I know the rewards that will come down the road because I put in the hours now.  Also, I am working at home, in my jammies, listening to my children play.  And, this last week my daughter was sick and couldn't go to school.  She cried when I told her I was going to the store.  So, what did I do?  I loaded her up, took her with me, set her up a bed in my office and was able to be with her and still work with no fear of repercussions.  (no, she was not around customers.  She was in a completely different closed off area)

But with all that said let me share with you what I experienced last evening.  It was after closing time and myself, my husband and my daughter were at the store.  We were all working as a team, as one cohesive unit to make improvements to the store.  And in that moment, I felt more peace and serenity than I have felt in a very long time.  The feelings of love and unity that I felt solidified in my mind that I had made the right decision to open my own boutique.  So, while I am working more hours than I have probably ever worked in a week, and I am pulling my hair out trying to learn all the ins and outs of being a business owner, I am also more at peace than I ever would have been in the corporate world!

I would love for you to check out my Boutique!  You can find me in person at 906 N Main Street in Harrison, AR.  OR, you can check out my website right now!!  Just go to Come and get the Boutique experience WITHOUT the Boutique price!! – Missing Piece Boutique and have a look around.

Until next time I hope you all have a wonderful day today and an even better tomorrow!
